Tessa and Duncan are going inside a sports arena to see a friend of Tessa's. Unfortunately, the friend (Natalie) has been attacked by a scalper, who seems to have it in for blonde women. He gives her a new hairdo, ventilating her skull. Needless to say, this scalper is not an ordinary fellow, but is a copycat scalper, following in the footsteps of an Immortal scalper that Duncan whacked years and years ago.
Natalie seems more concerned about losing her looks than losing her life, and we are treated to some puddling up about the horrible life lived by the beautiful. (Don't hate me because I'm beautiful.) The scalper rides a motorcycle called an Indian, which is absolutely no help to him at all when he's pretty much run over by Tessa in her big freakin' car. He lays there in the rain, in the gutter looking stunned and ordinary. Case closed.
Questions:
1. A scalper riding an Indian motorcycle. Get it? Never mind. I don't know if TPTB that planned it, but ... ya never know.
2. Does Natalie have a hat face? Do you hate her because she's beautiful? If not, why DO you hate her? Should you seek help?
3. Doesn't Tessa know that when you run over the bad guy, you're legally obligated to put the car in reverse and run over him again? Do you suppose that Sgt Bennett (Tim Reid AKA Venus Flytrap at WKRP in Cincinnati) arrested her for dereliction of duty?
4. I'm sure there's a question about the futility of a mortal copycat scalper emulating an Immortal scalper, but I don't know what it is. Make one up. Extra points. Free Prizes!
5. Was Duncan in this episode? What pants did he wear? Did he wear pants? Did he have good hair?
6. What is the moral to this episode? If it were being taught in my high school Literary Masterpieces class, the theme would have been Man's Inhumanity to Man, 'cause that was the theme to everything we studied in my high school Literary Masterpieces class. But that's entirely non-reflective of the question: What is the moral to the episode? Theme and moral are not necessarily related. Discuss.
7. How close are we to discussing The Zone? Won't you be glad when it's over?
