In another Tessa-Adventure, the erstwhile Significant Other of Our Hero witnesses the murder of an artist (named Anne, even though she wasn't hardly a doctor at all); however, no one will believe her but Mac because there seems to be an absence of a body.
In the face of disbelief, Tessa pursues the issue and it turns out she was Right All Along. But no one knows who the murderer was. So the police stick Tessa in a "safe house" which the chief of detectives attaches a bomb to ... shocking the whey out of us!
Duncan saves the day by hauling everyone out of the house just before it goes ka-blooie. Then he dispatches the Chief of Detectives (named Ballin, in spite of the fact he was really a K'immie) who unbeknownst to everyone was not only an Immortal, but the artist Anne's lover and murderer.
